National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the people who generously give their time, skills, and hearts to Hospice Whanganui.
Every day, volunteers help make our patient- and whānau-led service possible. Whether they are tending gardens, supporting fundraising events, assisting in our retail shops, serving on committees, helping behind the scenes, or contributing in countless other ways, their impact is felt throughout our organisation.
Volunteers are woven into the fabric of Hospice Whanganui. They help create warm and welcoming spaces, strengthen connections within our community, and support the care we provide to patients and whānau across our region.
While their roles may differ, they all share something in common – a commitment to helping others and making a positive difference.
National Volunteer Week is a chance to pause and acknowledge the extraordinary contribution our volunteers make. In the past year alone, 120 volunteers contributed more than 21,870 hours supporting Hospice Whanganui. Alongside those hours came something equally valuable – compassion, generosity, and a commitment to caring for our community.
To every Hospice Whanganui volunteer, past, present and future, thank you.
Your contribution matters. Your kindness is valued. And the difference you make is felt every day.
Because when it comes to caring for our community, it takes all of us.
💛 Happy National Volunteer Week.
