Hospice Whanganui offers education opportunities for health professionals working in primary and secondary care settings who deliver palliative care in the Whanganui region and wider areas.
Our aim is to give them the palliative care skills and knowledge they need to meet the needs of the patient, family and whanau. We also offer learning opportunities to families and carers to support them while they care for a loved one.
Purpose
We believe that Hospice care should be available to anyone who needs it, so that they can make the most of life. A quality of life with comfort and feelings of safety and security, at a time when things are uncertain, is important to us.
Values
- Leading in specialist palliative care and in enabling others.
- Balancing patients first with looking after ourselves and each other.
- Professional in all we do.
- Respectful in all our dealings.
- Valuing of the whole person.
- Active in quality and caring.
- Connected with our peers, with our community, with other providers.
