Hospice Whanganui was honoured to be the chosen charity partner for the recent Small Talks Whanganui event, held at Heritage House earlier this month.
The evening brought together local speakers, community supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for a night filled with big ideas, laughter, storytelling, and connection – all while raising funds to support hospice care across our region.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, a total of $1630 was raised to support Hospice Whanganui’s patient- and whānau-led care.
Small Talks is a unique community event where speakers share something they are passionate about in a series of short, engaging talks. The format creates an entertaining and fast-paced evening that encourages conversation, inspiration, and connection within the community.
Hospice Whanganui would like to sincerely thank Kathy Cunningham, Neil, Empire PR, Bayleys, Heritage House, the evening’s speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who attended and supported the event.
A special thank you also goes to Robi Martin for generously donating the auction item, and to everyone who contributed through raffles, auctions, ticket purchases, and promotion of the event.
Events like Small Talks are a wonderful reminder of the strength and generosity within the Whanganui community. Every contribution helps Hospice Whanganui continue providing specialist palliative care and support for patients and whānau across the region – most often in homes and within the community, with additional specialist support available when needed.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.
