We’re excited to share that solar power is coming to Hospice Whanganui!
Thanks to a $50,998 grant from Meridian Energy’s Community Decarbonisation Fund, solar panels will be installed at our Virginia Road site later this month.
For Hospice Whanganui, this is an investment in both financial and environmental sustainability.
As a charitable organisation providing specialist palliative care free of charge, reducing our ongoing operating costs matters. The savings generated through solar power will mean more of our funding can be directed where we want it most – towards caring for patients and whānau across our community.
It’s also another step towards reducing our environmental footprint and being responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to us.
We’re incredibly proud to have been the only Whanganui recipient of this year’s Community Decarbonisation Fund, and one of just 37 successful organisations from 232 applicants nationwide.
