Following the incredible success of our inaugural event, Mitre 10 MEGA Dancing for Hospice returns in 2027 – bigger, bolder, and set to once again bring our community together for a truly unforgettable night.

Proudly partnered with Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui, this much-loved event sees local personalities step outside their comfort zones and onto the dance floor, all in support of Hospice Whanganui.

WHAT IS DANCING FOR HOSPICE?

At Dancing for Hospice, everyday locals are paired with experienced dancers and take on the challenge of learning a dance routine over several months.

From their very first steps to their final performance, each couple embarks on a journey of growth, courage, and connection – all leading to one incredible night on stage.

In the lead up to event night, couples will also perform in front of a live audience at a special dress rehearsal event – building confidence and giving the community an early glimpse of the performances to come.

On event night, couples take to the stage once again, with winners decided by a panel of judges alongside a People’s Choice award voted by the crowd.
