A Sweet Gesture of Care

from Good Bitches Baking

At Hospice Whanganui, we often see how the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest impact.

Every fortnight, volunteers from Good Bitches Baking generously provide home baking for our patients. Our team then delivers them to patients throughout our community as part of their hospice care.

While a biscuit or slice might seem like a simple gesture, it often brings comfort, connection, and a reminder that people care.

Good Bitches Baking is a nationwide charitable organisation that connects volunteer bakers with community organisations supporting people facing challenging circumstances. Their mission is simple: to spread kindness through baking.

For many of our patients, these treats arrive during a difficult chapter of life. They are often shared with whānau over a cup of tea, enjoyed during a quiet moment, or simply appreciated as a thoughtful surprise.

The generosity of the Good Bitches Baking volunteers is a beautiful example of the community spirit that helps make hospice care possible.

To everyone who donates their time, ingredients, and baking skills – thank you.

Your kindness reaches further than you may ever know.

Ngā mihi nui from all of us at Hospice Whanganui.
