Members of the Ukulele Orchestra and members of the Eades-Worsfold family joined some of the staff at Hospice to present a cheque from their recent fundraiser. Aydie Holland from the Orchestra shares the story…
“The Tiny Porch Concerts were created by the Wanganui Ukulele Orchestra as a fun way to fulfill our purpose as fundraisers wanting to make a difference in our community.
The concept involves a host inviting guests to their wee porch, garden, deck, backyard, or paddock, choosing a charity they would like to support, and having the Wanganui Ukulele Orchestra provide the live music.
Tracey Eades-Worsfold and family hosted a Tiny Porch Concert on the 5th December to raise funds for Hospice because of the amazing service and support provided by Hospice to their loved ones over the years. Not only did their guests come in the pouring rain, but they stayed for two hours to listen to the music. The donation box (looking the part in a very cute wee vintage ukulele case), and a raffle organized for the event, raised $1400 for Hospice.
Keep up the good work everyone! With Love From The Wanganui Ukulele Orchestra.”
