2024 Hospice Awareness Week – HERO DAY, Wednesday 15 May
Time/Date: 8:00am - 5:00pm, 15 May 2024
Not all heroes wear capes but anyone taking part in Hero Day is a hero to Hospice Whanganui! Whoever your superhero is, it’s time to get creative and active, all while raising money for your local hospice.
Hero Day, as part of Hospice Awareness Week, is a special occasion to honor and appreciate the dedicated individuals who contribute to the success of our Hospice. This includes our frontline superhero clinical team, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and many others. It is a moment to raise awareness for the superheroes fighting life-limiting illnesses and for the families providing care during end-of-life.
Hero day is also about having fun, dressing up, celebrating all of our community Heroes. Your superhero might not be from TV or comic books, it could be a Mum or Dad, a favourite teacher, a celebrity, musician, neighbour or friend who is special to you. We encourage everyone to create a fun activity on the day, whether it be a morning tea, a quiz, a fun run or an art activity we would love for you to share your activity with us by posting to our facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/hospicewhanganui/
We would love as many schools and workplaces to take part, so come on, let’s dress up, bring a gold coin and be Heroes for Hospice! For more information email Renae Kilmister at renaek@hospicewhanganui.org.nz
