Posted: January 12, 2023

Are you looking for meaningful and purposeful work, want to make a real difference to our community, and want to be part of an awesome team?

Hospice Whanganui is a specialist service that provides palliative care for patients and their whānau in the Whanganui region. Our aim is to help people to live well with the time they have left, and to provide our support wherever they choose to be. You will be part of an inter-disciplinary team, where everyone’s contribution is valued equally, and everyone has a crucial part to play in providing excellent care to patients with a life-limiting condition.

We need dynamic and engaging Health Care Assistants who are looking to make a real difference to the lives of people in the Whanganui community.  We are looking for passionate and quality-driven people who would enjoy working in people’s homes, and occasionally in our 5-bed in-patient unit, to ensure care is wrapped around the needs and wishes of our patients and their whānau.

Being located on 1.9 hectares of beautiful, tranquil gardens, this is a wonderful base to work from, alongside our outstanding team who demonstrate our core values every day:

  • We always strive for the best (Excellence, Aspirational and Professional)
  • We do the right thing (Manaakitanga, Courage and Integrity)
  • We are stronger together (Kotahitanga, One Team, Partnership)

We have a permanent 0.8 FTE position available, along with casual positions, and would love to hear from you if you share our values and think this is the role for you.

If you’re interested in hearing more, please contact Kim Eland, Director of Integrated Services, for an application form and position description:

To apply for this position, applicants must be a NZ Citizen or have Permanent Residency. We welcome and embrace diversity at Hospice Whanganui and invite applications from all interested candidates.

Closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 3 February 2023.
