Hospice Whanganui is offering an opportunity to join our outstanding team.  With the impending retirement of our CEO, we are looking for someone with management experience who can lead our team into the future.

Hospice Whanganui delivers palliative care services to whanau/families in the Whanganui district.

The Chief Executive Officer is accountable for leading, developing and implementing the strategies and operational performance frameworks for the Hospice Whanganui Board of Trustees, ensuring that the vision and values of Hospice Whanganui are achieved, that a high standard of care is provided to patients and their family/whanau, and the Hospice philosophy of palliative care is maintained and respected.

Essential skills will be strategic planning, financial management, project management and leading multi-layered teams.

Hospice Whanganui has a catchment population of approximately 50,000 people and has up to 100 patients referred for specialist palliative care at any time.  Referred patients are cared for in the community or within the Hospice’s five-bed inpatient unit.
